Setting Up My Wallet: New Mover

Request an Access Code to unlock your Transportation Wallet

Residents of some of Portland’s new apartment buildings are eligible for a free Transportation Wallet: New Mover by requesting an Access Code. Here’s how to get an Access Code:

You may have received a Welcome Flyer from your property management company with a unique Access Code when you moved in. We’ve updated our process and now require all applicants to check your eligibility online.

If you do qualify, we will mail a unique Access Code to your home address typically within 5-7 business days. After you receive your Access Code, visit our homepage and look for the “Enter Your Access Code Here” button. Follow the prompts to unlock your Transportation Wallet and make it ready for use.

Choose your Wallet

Residents can choose one of the following Wallets during sign-up:

  • Option 1: TriMet Honored Citizen 1-Year Pass* (a $308 value)
Please note that this option is only available to people who qualify for Honored Citizen TriMet fare.
  • Option 2: $100 Hop card + $100 BIKETOWN credit

For Honored Citizen Hop card holders

Visit TriMet’s website to learn if you qualify:

Once you have your Hop card, enter your card number, security code, and expiration date on the “My Hop Cards” tab in your Transportation Wallet account.

Our program staff will load your TriMet Honored Citizen 1-Year Pass, which is valid for use on TriMet buses, MAX light rail, and Portland Streetcar for unlimited rides for an entire year from the month it was loaded.

Please expect up to 10 business days for the 1-Year Pass to be loaded to your Hop card. We will notify you when it is ready for use.

Option 2: $100 Hop Card + $100 BIKETOWN Credit

For all Hop card types

This option is available to all residents of qualifying buildings, whether you hold an Honored Citizen Hop card or not.

Load your existing Hop card or get a new one

You can use your Transportation Wallet benefits by applying them to a new or existing Hop Fastpass® card. Also called “Hop cards,” these refillable fare cards are used to pay for rides on TriMet, Portland Streetcar, and some other Portland-area transit services.

If you already have a Hop card, simply enter the 16-digit number and security code when you redeem your $100 credit in your Transportation Wallet Account. Your Hop card will instantly load and you can start using your benefits right away.

If you don’t have a Hop card already, no problem! We will load a new Hop card with your transit benefits and mail it to you.

BIKETOWN: Portland’s bike-share program

This Wallet also comes with a $100 credit for use with BIKETOWN, Portland’s bike-share program.

If you do not have a BIKETOWN account, you will need to create one. After creating your account, copy and paste the $100 bike-share credit from your Transportation Wallet into the promo code field. The credit is valid for 12 months after uploading it to your BIKETOWN account. You can use this credit toward unlocking fees ($1 each trip) and ride credits as a pay-as-you-go user.
